For the last year we have slowly raised the training wheels on Baxter's bike until he has hardly relied on them at all. We did keep telling him we thought he was ready to take them off but he insisted he wasn't ready. We decided to wait until he felt he was. Well, back in September on Kristine's birthday Baxter came in that morning and said, "I'm ready to take my training wheels off." And so we did, as we expected he picked it up quite easily. He had a lot of practice while we house sat for our friends Kim & Anna last month because they have a long drive way. It is definitely one of Baxter's favorite things to do now, go to the park & ride bikes. It's kinda cute seeing him pull up to the park and get off his bike with such pride. Kristine wants to get him a bigger bike but I think we should make him wait till Christmas... we'll see if my wifey can hold out.

Yay Baxter!!! We took Gabe's training wheels off the other day, hopefully he'll get the hang of it soon. I think it's a good idea to start with the little bike since they can so easily touch the ground still.
